Key Areas of Responsibility
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient DevOps solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and validate system and infrastructure design for high availability, performance, and security.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes (GKE) and hybrid environments.
- Establish and maintain Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure platform reliability.
- Support and maintain deployed solutions, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enable DevSecOps practices.
- Document designed and deployed solutions, processes, and runbooks.
Required Skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory – ability to communicate effectively with a global, distributed team.
- Strong hands-on expertise with GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, etc.).
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code, including best practices for modularization and state management.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes (preferably GKE), including Helm, operators, networking, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration (package management, user management, shell scripting, system monitoring).
- Experience with at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Go, or Bash preferred).
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- Familiarity with source control systems (Git preferred).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs, etc.).
- Experience with centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions (Stackdriver/Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
- Basic knowledge of security best practices (SSL/TLS, IAM, RBAC, secrets management).
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Positive attitude toward learning and adapting to new technologies.
The Following Is Considered a Plus
- Google Cloud certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud deployments.
- Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) or advanced Kubernetes add-ons.
- Exposure to site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
