Description

Global Payments Inc. is looking for a multifaceted Project Manager to lead development and program efforts for Program Management Office (PMO) initiatives.  You will be part of the PMO working with the Product Management group to help define schedules, scope, and technical issues including product ownership. You will lead a team of internal and external resources in the prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and drive overall program performance.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a technical leadership position and be adept at interpreting customer-centric approaches to solving business problems.

Key Areas of responsibility:

  • Plan, Risks and Issues, Scope Management & Tracking statistics
  • Clearly defining project roles & responsibilities, escalation paths and ownership
  • Actively participating in creation (or facilitation) of specifications
  • Overseeing and ensuring validation on the specifications
  • Actively participating in project sizing and resource requirements
  • Establishing a Scope management process
  • Handling project execution working with both internal and external teams
  • Ensuring quality of the end deliverable
  • Managing day-to-day team and personnel activities
  • Maintaining project costing metrics, comparing to proposal and taking necessary corrective actions
  • Staging and executing User Acceptance of the end deliverable
  • Establishing and executing the roll out strategy
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Establishes, plans, and executes major milestone reviews and decision gates to complete the program and project life cycle.
  • Ensures all the required products are produced and reviewed, including the technical leadership of requirements management, design, implementation, system integration, verification, test, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainment of the technical solution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • A thorough understanding of software processes (development, configuration, testing, and deployment)
  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, leadership skills essential to successful program/project management
  • Be a motivated self-starter who is also a team player with great cross-group collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work.
  • Detail oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices and identify what truly matters
  • 6-8 years of experience leading large, cross-functional technical projects
  • Managing projects and writing technical specifications
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting internal and externally developed code.
  • Experience implementing Agile Methodology
  • Ability to assist others in their work and assess the quality of other’s work.
  • Excited to learn new technologies
  • Experience delivering production‐grade software
  • Enjoys solving problems / finding new solutions to technical challenges
  • Proficient with SDLC
  • Atlassian JIRA experience a plus
  • Previous Restaurant experience a plus
