The Multinational Commerce team leads the company’s global ecommerce, omnichannel and multinational efforts including solutions strategy, go-to-market design and sales execution.
As a Principal Sales Engineer at Global Payments, you will play a significant part of our growth engine by providing expert technical consultation to prospective customers. Working closely with our direct sales teams, you will provide technical and functional expertise for our complete suite of payment gateway, fraud management and global merchant acquiring (POS and CNP) to large, multinational businesses.
You are naturally analytical and enjoy digging into business models and helping customers quantify their decisions. You will also work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Legal, Sales, Engineering) to craft custom solutions to achieve customer growth objectives.

You’ll:

Become a trusted advisor to prospective customers by deeply learning their business and aligning our payment solutions to their growth goals

Sell the technical feasibility of our payment solutions, including global merchant acquiring (POS and CNP), payment gateway, fraud management and security services and recommend key functionality that empowers customers to optimize their business growth strategies

Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customer audiences

Be a subject matter expert who interfaces with the larger Global Payments organization to deliver technical training and advice to promote global solutions

Collaborate with regional colleagues to bundle together regional commerce solutions into a cohesive solution and sell to multinational prospects in a unified manner

Enjoy pattern recognition and solving thematic problems. You will create user-facing content for short-term solutions and also work with Sales, Product and Engineering on long-term solutions.

Want to actively decrease a customer’s onboarding timeline and help Global Payments understand and optimize this time-to-live metric

Participate in relevant industry events, develop and promote your personal brand

Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales engineers
We’re looking for someone with:

5+ years experience working with customers in a technical pre-sales, consulting, post-sales or related technical role at a technology company

Deep technical understanding of web services/APIs and system integrations

Ability to understand complex technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple products through an innovative lens

Strong project management and planning skills: can manage the interactions between Sales, Product, Operations, Customer Support and Post Sales

Strong presentation skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Success working in fast-paced environments that evolve quickly, leverages modern sales tools and follows a structured sales process
