Summary of This Role

This role provides a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of our company’s products and services and how they integrate into the customer’s operations and needs. This role will focus on Requirement gathering through data mining and meeting with internal/external clients to prepare the pseudo code logic for the programming team. They will understand how both source and target systems hardware function and can assess and define what solution or system is needed by utilization of new tools and trends. 

What Part Will You Play?

  • Onsite, hybrid, based out of or Campus, Downtown Columbus location. Need to be flexible to work 2 days a week in the office.
  • Provides technical business knowledge related to a product, system or project in which guidance and/or solutions are needed. 
  • May be involved at any or all stages of a project or issue.  May be involved with refining a specification, designing a product or system, managing part or all of a project.
  • Performs analysis, ensures its accuracy, and recommends alternative solutions within project strategy and deliverable prioritization which may include feasibility study and risk analysis. Understands client needs and impacts to their systems and adjusts delivery within the client's requirements.
  • Will monitor high level implementation plans.
  • Works with business, technical, operations and end users for desired solutions.
  • Provides business direction and may handle client negotiation actions.
  • May review defined system requirements to ensure they meet the business needs and validates the solution.
  • With moderately complex projects, may serve as Subject Matter Expert for components, and must be able to guide understanding of requirements and impacts to the customer, system, and strategy.
  • Participates in client facing meetings, joint venture discussions, vendor partnerships, client and internal development team working solutions to determine solution approaches.
  • Works closely with team to resolve varied and complex issues based on specialized experience and knowledge.
  • Job Complexity - Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups, both internal and external.
  • Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
  • Consultant for business best practices and industry trends.
  • Not an exhaustive list; other duties as assigned.
  • May need to work in odd hours or weekends (30%) e.g. early / late, weekends etc.
  • May need to travel (10%)
  • $70K - $80K , plus day 1 benefits, including access to to 401K & Healthcare Insurance

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required Experience: Typically Minimum 6 years' relevant experience. Scripting knowledge, bankcard industry knowledge, understanding data structures, professional experience working with end-users to meet business needs
  • Required Education: Bachelor's Degree - Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Business or equivalent work experience, such as relevant technical background and/or work product/SME knowledge in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Experience  

  • Financial technology and Bankcard background required.
  • Understanding of complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile best practices (LEAN, AGILE (SCRUM and SAFE) as well as Waterfall project management methodology
  • Mainframe navigation and tools for example: TSO, CICS, File Manager.
  • Show an ability to manage and lead cross-team projects, working with multiple development teams, as well as internal and external partners to successful project conclusion.

Preferred Education

  • Preferred Certification(s) / Licensing:  e.g.  Certifications in database or other technologies e.g. Oracle, Web, Java; b. PCI certifications;
