In this role, you’ll build practical experience across threat detection, risk mitigation and security operations. You will contribute to real projects, strengthen our security posture and help shape how Global Payments protects the future of commerce.

What you’ll own

• Explore cyber threats and uncover insights that strengthen how Global Payments detects and responds to risks

• Drive improvements in security playbooks and processes, creating clearer and more effective ways to respond to incidents

• Monitor systems and identify vulnerabilities, helping reduce risk and improve the resilience of our environment

• Create meaningful security metrics that measure performance, highlight impact and guide smarter decisions

• Influence stronger security practices by contributing to policies, standards and documentation that shape how teams operate

• Participate in security reviews and help ensure solutions meet compliance and risk standards

• Stay ahead of emerging threats and trends, bringing fresh ideas that improve how we protect the business

• Shape the future of the internship program by sharing ideas that enhance learning and team impact

What you bring

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security or a related field, or equivalent hands-on learning experience

• Foundational knowledge of cyber security concepts, with certifications such as Information Technology Fundamentals, Network+, A+, or Security+

• Understanding of security frameworks such as National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework

• Awareness of compliance standards including Payment Card Industry, Sarbanes-Oxley and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

• Strong curiosity and a drive to learn, with the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment

• Clear communication skills, with the confidence to share ideas and learn from others

• A proactive, disciplined mindset with the motivation to take ownership of your growth and contributions
