Job Description

Ready to take your career global?

Payroll is more than a process. It is one of the most important experiences people have with their employer. When payroll runs accurately, on time, and in compliance with local regulations, it builds trust, confidence, and a stronger workplace.

What you’ll own
- Drive accurate and timely payroll delivery across Mexico and Latin America, creating a trusted experience for colleagues and ensuring business continuity.
- Own payroll compliance by applying labor, tax, and social security requirements, reducing risk and maintaining confidence in payroll operations.
- Lead payroll data validation and reconciliation processes that strengthen accuracy, improve reporting quality, and support informed business decisions.
- Shape continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the payroll experience across the region.
- Build strong partnerships with finance and human resources teams to create seamless connections between payroll and broader people processes.
- Influence payroll governance by maintaining robust records, strengthening Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, and ensuring audit readiness.
- Use payroll insights and reporting to identify trends, improve consistency, and drive operational excellence.
- Create positive colleague experiences by resolving payroll inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and a strong client-focused mindset.

What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- 8+ years of payroll experience across Mexico and Latin America, including ownership of end-to-end payroll processes.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican labor laws, social security regulations, tax legislation, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Experience working with payroll systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, teamwork, and delivering outstanding service to colleagues.

It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience supporting payroll operations within a shared services or global organization, where you’ve helped streamline processes across multiple countries or entities.
- Exposure to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls, audit processes, or regulated environments where strong governance and control discipline is essential.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives in payroll or HR operations, where you’ve influenced process enhancements, automation, or system optimization.

About the team

At Global Payments, you’ll join a collaborative team that keeps our people connected to the business through reliable payroll operations across Latin America. You’ll work alongside talented colleagues in finance, human resources, and business teams while gaining exposure to a global organization that continues to evolve and grow.
In this role, you’ll own payroll accuracy and compliance across Mexico and Latin America, create opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls, and drive outcomes that directly impact colleagues across the region.
