Ready to take your career global?
Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. This role is an AI & Automation Director to drive the mobilisation, delivery and sustained acceleration of priority AI initiatives across the Enterprise line of business.
This role acts as a key coordination and delivery partner between AI strategy, delivery teams, business stakeholders, and external partners — helping ensure AI initiatives are well defined, prioritised appropriately, governed appropriately, delivered successfully, and ultimately adopted in day-to-day operations.
The role blends AI programme support, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and external insight gathering, with sufficient technical depth to credibly contribute to solution design, partner with engineers and data scientists, and translate business needs into actionable delivery plans. The role is not expected to be the primary hands‑on engineer
The role contributes to strengthening AI capability over time, improving AI literacy across the business, and helping ensure investment converts into measurable enterprise value through clear problem definitions, disciplined delivery, and effective adoption support
What you’ll own
AI Engagement & Mobilisation
- Partner with stakeholders across the Enterprise line of business to identify, shape, and mobilise AI and automation opportunities, ensuring alignment to business priorities and balancing ambition, feasibility, risk, and value
- Independently manage a structured pipeline of AI and automation initiatives (with support from relevant leads), owning the initiative delivery from early-stage ideation through to adoption
- Act as the driver translating AI strategy and business demand into executable initiatives, by clarifying requirements, defining business cases, delivery plans, and delivering outcomes aligned to strategy
- Promote effective human‑AI collaboration by helping teams define practical AI partnership patterns that protect the human contribution while unlocking scale, efficiency and innovation
Senior Stakeholder Management & Influence
- Build strong working relationships with leaders and subject-matter experts across the organisation, including commercial, operations, product, technology, risk, and compliance teams
- Facilitate structured ideation with business stakeholders, helping surface high-value use cases and mature early ideas into prioritised initiatives within the AI pipeline
- Provide a consistent point of ownership and coordination for AI initiatives, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility and engagement throughout the lifecycle
- Support prioritisation and trade‑off discussions by preparing options, risks, and recommended next steps; ensure decisions and actions are clearly captured and followed through
Enterprise AI Orchestration
- Drive progress across AI initiatives to track progress, manage interdependencies, surface risks, and support effective sequencing
- Partner with delivery leaders to help initiatives move smoothly from ideation through build, testing, rollout, and adoption (e.g., supporting sprint planning, UAT, and launch readiness)
- Ensure governance, ethical AI principles, and regulatory considerations are incorporated into delivery artefacts and ways of working; escalate issues and risks when needed
External Insights & Thought Leadership
- Bring relevant external AI insights, market trends, and emerging best practices into internal conversations and delivery decisions
- Support engagement with vendors, partners, start‑ups, and industry forums (e.g., coordinating sessions, capturing learnings, and evaluating applicability to Worldpay)
- Contribute to Worldpay’s internal AI point of view by drafting guidance, sharing examples, and helping teams apply common patterns
Adoption, Change & Capability Building
- Support AI communication and change activities (e.g., updates, demos, playbooks, and stakeholder packs) to drive sustained adoption
- Help improve AI literacy and confidence across senior and operational audiences through targeted enablement sessions and practical examples
- Contribute to the evolution of internal AI ways‑of‑working, engagement models, and governance frameworks by capturing feedback and iterating templates and processes
Team Management Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of AI Analysts, providing direction, coaching, and prioritisation to ensure high-quality analysis, business engagement, and delivery support across multiple AI initiatives
- Allocate analyst resources across the AI portfolio, balancing demand, capability, and business priorities to maximise delivery effectiveness and value realisation
- Establish consistent standards, methodologies, and quality controls for opportunity assessment, requirements gathering, benefits tracking, value measurement, and adoption reporting
- Create a high-performing analytical capability by developing team skills in AI, automation, data analysis, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and business case development
- Provide oversight and challenge to analyst outputs, ensuring recommendations are evidence-based, commercially focused, and aligned to strategic business objectives
What you’ll bring
AI & Automation Leadership
- Proven experience supporting and delivering AI and automation initiatives in complex and/or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with the end-to-end AI lifecycle, from use case identification and prototyping through to deployment, scaling, and adoption.
- Good working knowledge of generative AI, copilots, agent‑based systems, and automation patterns, with the ability to translate concepts into practical use cases and delivery requirements.
- Strong delivery management skills (e.g., requirements, planning, RAID, and benefits tracking) and the ability to work effectively across technology, product, operations, and risk/compliance stakeholders.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of analysts, business analysts, or similar delivery support functions within a transformation, technology, AI, or automation environment.
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, capability development, workload prioritisation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
