We’re looking for a Senior Firewall Engineer (Level 3) to join our Global Network Security team and help secure our mission-critical infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise firewall solutions while driving security improvements across our global environment.
What you’ll own
Provide Level 3 technical support for enterprise firewall environments, acting as the highest escalation point for complex incidents and critical outages.
Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Check Point Firewall environments, including Security Gateways, Management Servers, VSX, ClusterXL, VPNs, NAT, IPS, Identity Awareness, Application Control, URL Filtering, and Threat Prevention.
Perform advanced troubleshooting of network security issues involving routing, switching, firewall policies, VPN connectivity, SSL inspection, and application traffic.
Lead firewall policy reviews, rule optimization, cleanup activities, and compliance initiatives while ensuring adherence to security standards.
Collaborate with Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security Operations, and Application teams to deliver secure solutions for new business initiatives.
Plan and execute firewall upgrades, migrations, operating system updates, and hardware refresh activities with minimal business impact.
Participate in security architecture reviews and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
Investigate security incidents and provide root cause analysis along with preventive recommendations.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation guides, and knowledge articles.
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support during planned maintenance and critical production incidents.
What you’ll bring
Strong experience administering Check Point Firewall platforms in large enterprise environments.
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, NAT, VPN technologies, SSL/TLS, DNS, and enterprise networking concepts.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex firewall and network security issues across distributed global environments.
Strong knowledge of firewall policy management, threat prevention technologies, and security best practices.
Experience working with high-availability firewall clusters and disaster recovery environments.
Ability to analyze logs using SmartConsole, SmartView, SmartEvent, Log Exporter, and related monitoring tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
Strong documentation skills and commitment to operational excellence.
A proactive mindset with a focus on automation, continuous improvement, and delivering secure, reliable services.
It’s a bonus if you have
Experience with Check Point Maestro, VSX, Multi-Domain Management (MDM), or CloudGuard.
Experience with additional firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower.
Knowledge of cloud networking and security (Google Cloud).
Experience with automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or REST APIs.
Experience with change management processes and ITIL best practices.
Relevant certifications such as Check Point CCSA, CCSE, CCSM, CISSP, or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
7 years of experience in Network Security or Firewall Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on Check Point Firewall administration in enterprise production environments.
Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability production environments.
Strong understanding of enterprise networking and security technologies.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones
