Job Description

Ready to take your career global?

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Director, Risk & Compliance to join our ever-evolving Risk & Compliance Team and help shape the future of global commerce. In this role, you will drive the strategies, frameworks and governance that protect our business, clients and partners while enabling sustainable growth across a complex global payments landscape. Your leadership will help strengthen compliance, operational resilience and risk management practices, ensuring Global Payments continues to innovate with confidence and integrity. Working with senior leaders across the organization, you will influence critical business decisions, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and help create a secure, compliant and resilient foundation that supports our mission to power commerce worldwide.

What you'll own

  • Lead the evolution of enterprise risk and compliance programs, ensuring the organization remains resilient, compliant and well-positioned to navigate regulatory change while supporting strategic business growth.
  • Shape risk-informed decision-making across the business, delivering insights, governance reporting and recommendations that help executives balance opportunity, risk and long-term value creation.
  • Strengthen operational resilience and business continuity capabilities, driving preparedness strategies that minimize disruption, protect clients and safeguard business performance during critical events.
  • Champion a culture of accountability and ethical conduct, influencing leaders and teams to proactively manage risk, maintain regulatory compliance and uphold the highest standards of integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement across risk, audit and assurance processes, identifying emerging threats, closing control gaps and enhancing organizational effectiveness to protect our people, assets and reputation.

What you'll bring

  • Significant experience leading enterprise risk, compliance, governance or operational risk programs within a complex, highly regulated organization.
  • Proven success influencing senior leaders and stakeholders to drive risk-based decisions, strengthen controls and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management frameworks, audit practices and business continuity principles.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data, risks and regulatory requirements into actionable business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and empower high-performing teams while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.

It's a bonus if you have

  • Experience within the payments, financial services or technology industries.
  • Advanced degree in a related field or relevant professional risk, compliance or governance certification.
  • Track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that enhanced compliance effectiveness, operational resilience or risk maturity.
