Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join our ever evolving Application Architecture team within Global Payments Europe and help shape the future of global commerce.

What you’ll own

• Own the end-to-end architecture and technical outcomes for one or more Genius POS platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

• Drive the design of payment capabilities, integrations, and APIs that enable seamless interoperability across POS platforms, shared services, and third-party partner ecosystems.

• Lead the adoption and evolution of AI-enabled capabilities, including merchant-facing experiences, agentic workflows, AI assistants, and developer productivity tooling.

• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to guide technical decisions, balance trade-offs, and embed architectural excellence throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Champion platform convergence and technical enablement by establishing reusable patterns, influencing cross-functional architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers in architectural best practices.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead with a strong software engineering foundation and a track record of designing and delivering complex, cloud-native platforms at scale.

• Deep expertise in payments and commerce technologies, including payment integrations, PCI-sensitive architectures, tokenization, API design, and secure partner ecosystem integrations.

• Strong knowledge of modern cloud and software architecture patterns, including microservices, event-driven systems, integration platforms, API management, observability, and DevOps practices across AWS and/or Azure environments.

• Experience applying AI technologies in real-world solutions, from conversational AI and agentic workflows to AI-assisted development tools, coupled with a passion for driving innovation through emerging technologies.

• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to influence technical decisions, navigate ambiguity, communicate effectively across technical and business audiences, and mentor teams through complex architectural challenges.

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience in POS, payments, or commerce platforms, including PCI DSS, tokenization, P2PE, payment integrations, and omnichannel payment solutions.

• Hands-on experience with AI-powered solutions, including foundation models, RAG architecture, agentic workflows, MCP tooling, and AI-assisted software development practices.

• Proven success driving architecture across multiple teams or platforms, building cloud-native distributed systems, and influencing technical strategy in fast-paced product organizations.

• A strong ability to partner with stakeholders and teams to understand needs and remove impediments, showing curiosity, empathy, and a clear focus on delivering value to clients and end users.

• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you take accountability for team effectiveness, continuously improve ways of working, and encourage experimentation and innovation within Agile practices.

• Experience fostering high-performing, collaborative teams, ideally in cross-functional or distributed environments, promoting inclusivity, psychological safety, and a “one team” mentality.
