Mark in front of Global Payments background

Hey Mark, tell us a bit about your role...

I've been with Global Payments for almost 16 years and currently lead the Asia Pacific Contact Center Operations within our Global Service Center in Manila.

My team supports merchants and clients across Asia and Oceania through customer service, technical support, and email-based support. We operate 24/7 and work across multiple countries, products, and channels to help businesses keep running smoothly. At the heart of what we do is delivering exceptional customer experiences, making sure our clients get the support they need.

What's your favorite part of the job?

Without a doubt, it's the people.

I've had the opportunity to work with colleagues from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, and I've learned something from each of them. I enjoy building strong teams, developing future leaders, and creating an environment where people feel supported and valued.

Some of my favorite moments are the simple ones: conversations between meetings, coffee breaks, celebrating team wins, and seeing people grow in their careers. Those relationships and shared experiences are what make coming to work meaningful.

What are you working on at the moment?

It's an exciting time for Asia Pacific. We're currently supporting several modernization initiatives across the region that will help shape the future of how we serve our clients.

It's always rewarding to see new technology, innovation, and transformation taking place. Being part of that journey and helping drive positive change for our teams and customers is something I'm truly excited about.

What made you choose Global Payments?

When I joined Global Payments in 2010, I was looking for an opportunity to build a better future for myself and my family.

What has kept me here for nearly 16 years is the people, the opportunities, and the experiences I've gained along the way. I've been able to work across different functions, regions, and teams. I've grown into leadership, and I continuously challenge myself in new ways.

Looking back, many of the milestones I'm most proud of happened during my time here, both professionally and personally.

What's your favorite memory as a Globalpayer?

After so many years, it's impossible to choose just one.

From receiving my job offer in 2010, to helping launch new programs, traveling to Global Payments sites, meeting company leaders, and receiving recognition throughout my career, there have been countless memorable moments.

But if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the journey itself. The relationships I've built, the opportunities I've been given, and the person I've become along the way are what stand out the most.

What's the best career advice you can share?

Some of the biggest milestones in my career came from opportunities I wasn't actively seeking but chose to embrace. Be curious, build relationships, and never stop learning. The experiences you gain and the connections you make can open doors you never expected.

And one more thing: say yes to opportunities, even if they take you out of your comfort zone. You can figure out the details along the way. Growth often starts when you're willing to take that first step.
